Instructor, Randy Kropp

Introduced to Fly Fishing in 1969, Randy has fished both Saltwater and Freshwater species across the United States from the West and Northern Midwest to the East Coast. In addition to Fly Fishing, Randy has taught Rock Climbing, Elite Cycling, Elite Hockey and numerous local youth sports. Originally from Minnesota, Randy entered college as an Outdoor Education Major but earned his B.S. in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University. He then received a Masters in Health and Human Services Administration from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota and has built his career in Healthcare Administration. Introducing Fly Fishing to others or helping those that already have some expertise is what Randy enjoys most.

Randy works with his Fly Fishing students to develop an efficient style to match with individual personal abilities and goals. Fly Fishing is a lifetime sport for men, women, and children. Friends and family may accompany Fly Fishermen to the Lodge at Rivers Ridge over Instructional Weekends but personal Fly Fishing Instruction will only be offered to 4 individuals given the technical nature of the sport.

Fishermen ages 16 and older must obtain a regular NC fishing license to fish our waters at The Lodge at Rivers Ridge. A youth under the age of 16 accompanied by a properly licensed adult may fish without a license. A special trout license is not required by the state of NC to fish our private waters.
